Turkey Burgers



From 1,000 Lowfat Recipes  by Terry Blonder Golson

 Ingredients:


1 lb lean ground turkey (not ground turkey breast)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg white       
¼ - ½ cup fresh or dry breadcrumbs (pecan panko works well)
1 tsp dried basil (or few leaves fresh)
½ tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp freshly ground pepper

(I’ve added a little teriyaki sauce with good results)


Directions:

1)   Thoroughly combine all ingredients. Add enough breadcrumbs to firm up the mixture.
2)   Form into patties.
3)   Grill, broil, or cook in a nonstick pan on the stovetop until the burgers lose their pink color.  Turn once while cooking.
